After competing all my responses and proceeding with further development. I had to come up with an idea, which would connect all my photographers together, when I started thinking about final outcomes. In my photographs I have used people, but I’ve also taking photographs of letterbox and doors. I then thought about exploring people who are determined to change themselves. As a result of the society and the world we live in there is pressure to look a certain way. We are all guilty of wanting to change out bodies from getting our tattoo's to getting a complete face transplant. I felt this was a really interesting way to approach my title ‘Postal’. Men feel as though to be man you must look a certain way i.e. a six-pack. Many female aspire to have longer legs and slim figure , this is highly influenced by the media.
How does the link in with postal?
I wanted to explore a world, which made it easier for people to change themselves. The idea that technology in the 21 century is constantly evolving that in the future changing your body would be as easy as ordering a fancy top online and getting it developer to your door step.
How would I approach this and what am going to use?
Mannequins are designed to be the perfect ideal women/men. They are tall long legs and have the perfect plastic face. I felt it would be appropriate to use a both the human body and mannequins by combing them together and possibly exploring the ordering and postal process of someone who wanted to change themselves. My photographer 'Elenore' only worked with mannequins and like this would be the perfect way to gain inspiration from my photographers.
