In my previous photoshoot in relation to the ‘ideal man’ I
mention tattoo. I felt as though they related in a number of ways. First the
idea that letter and postal does not mean writing a letter or men and paper anymore,
in the modern world we send to write letter on different mediums. One of these
mediums being the human body. The evolution of the world that we live in and is
seen to be fashionable. This leads us nicely to our second connection that
women and men tend to want to get tattoos as it is a trend. Men tend to see
them as being masculine as well. By getting these tattoos they are also
building up a character and image with in themselves, similar to the way women
do so.
For my shoot I used a black backdrop and a single light as I wanted to create a sense of darkness with in my shoot. This helped bring my model out and the focus was mainly on him which was the intended purpose. However after exploring this further it was clear to me that this wasn’t something I wanted to develop further , it had started to go on tangent and I felt it wasn’t necessary for me to explore the tattoo aspect of changing our bodies.
